'Twas the month before Christmas when all through the Lands, the Cast Members were working their magic by hand. The icicles hung on the castle with care, in hopes that the travelers soon would be there.
DCA's Festive Foods Marketplace If you've read any of my posts before, you've realized by now that I navigate the park by way of my stomach. What California Adventures did this holiday season for their park eats just goes absolutely above and beyond. The Disney team took the trend of food trucks and kiosks and made their very own gathering of holiday culinary booths inside what they call The Festival of Holidays. The Festival is a collection of music, performances, and face painting with cuisine as its centerpiece. Each food kiosk offers a delectable holiday-themed menu in their Festive Foods Marketplace, which include both American classics and global favorites! Check out some of these tasty bites below (it deserved its own photo slider, that's how amazing these all look).
What makes this new technology so incredibly attractive is that you can choose from available Fast Passes in both parks from wherever you are - even Downtown Disney! And before you go getting too excited, there are some similarities from the classic (still in use) paper Fast Passes. You can only get a new pass when your current one is within its return time frame (or every two hours) and they are subject to running out so you've got to still be strategic in choosing. But the pros (and the pure and simple curiosity of the whole thing) heavily outweigh the cons.
World of Color - Season of Light Both Disney and Christmas music have the ability to bring joyful tears to my eyes. Combine them together and an all-powerful waterworks machine is created. I will be sure and bring extra tissues to this season's World of Color showing. The usual formula of Disney and Pixar movies combined with shooting water and color displays of lights takes things to a whole new magical level by adding in Christmas music! You'll still need to go get a paper Fast Pass to see this attraction (nope, it does not work with Max Pass :/ ) so be sure and snag one on your way in as the first thing you do!
With the new tech, crowd favorites, and food that warms our hearts and tummies, how could one NOT be drawn to visit the resort this season. If you've got the time (and the pocket change) to check out the parks this time of year, I can't recommend it enough. There is truly something magical that happens when Disney dives into the holiday season head first... even snow in Orange County manages to stay Frozen.
